Some more Information
 The Palms Nursery year is divided into three terms, as in the UK, but because of the climate the summer holiday is longer. The Nursery week is from Sunday to Thursday inclusive. Normal hours are from 8:00 to 12:30, with Late Class from 12:30 to 1:30.
There is a short break during the day for the children to eat and drink. Children bring a packed lunchbox to nursery and they eat their snacks under supervision. Parents are asked to ensure that lunch boxes are named and that for safety purposes the children do not bring glass containers.
Children are not to arrive at nursery earlier than 10 minutes before the start time, as supervision cannot be guaranteed.
We recognize that on occasion’s parents or nominated persons may be held up for a few minutes at home time. All children are taken to late class where they will be looked after until collected. Parents are reminded of their responsibility to contact the nursery if they are detained.
Liaison with local Primary Schools
Teaching staff visit the Primary Schools and the children have an opportunity to meet the Reception Class teacher in the term prior to their entry. Meetings with the staff of local British Curriculum primary schools are held regularly to revue and develop transfer procedures.
