About the Nursery
The Palms Nursery consists of 7 classrooms, all very cheerfully decorated, to make even the most timid child feel at home. All are fully equipped to provide ample opportunity for imaginative and constructive play.
All the Nursery teaching staff are European, consisting of the Headmistress, Senior Teacher, 7 Class Teachers, 7 Assistant Teachers and a full time Nurse.
The aim of the Nursery is to operate a curriculum that will help the children to acquire the skills and values that will enable them to develop socially, physically and emotionally.
All classes follow a flexible timetable where an active time is always followed by a quiet time. The routine continues throughout the Nursery, giving the child confidence as he/she advances year to year.
Each child is encouraged to progress at his/her own pace, while integrating with a group as a whole. The children are not forced beyond their capabilities, but sufficient stimulus is provided to draw them on.
Play Areas
We have several outdoor play areas; 2 sand and 3 paved for riding bicycles etc. All the play areas are covered. Whilst the classrooms have puzzles, games, indoor toys, books, painting etc., the outside areas have playhouses, slides, climbing frames and buckets and spades, giving the children varied aspects of learning and playing.
There is also a ‘SOFT PLAY’ playroom designed by an accredited expert, specifically for children of nursery age. The playroom is a popular favourite and is used daily by all classes.
